Class Options
NEW | Morning Cooking & Conversation
I am offering a few new classes in this next season of cooking. I will still do a Morning Cooking Class which a lot of you have come to–we create a beautiful meal together and then enjoy it outside under the oak trees. This season, I have added a new class called Cooking & Conversation. This class will be a little more streamlined and a little less expensive. In Cooking & Conversation we still cook a whole meal together, but while our meal is cooking we sit down and go over meal planning–how you can feed your families delicious and healthy food without breaking the bank. Because I want to work with each of you on your meal plan I am limiting each class to six people.
Morning Cooking & Conversation includes:
Cooking lesson
Organic ingredients to create our meal (protein, side, and salad)
Sideyard Vinegar mocktails
Meal planning
NEW | Evening Cooking & Conversation
I know that a lot of you work during the day and I have been asked over and over again if I would do an evening cooking class. I am pleased to tell you that I will include the option for Cooking & Conversation in the evening.
Evening Cooking & Conversation includes:
Cooking lesson
Organic ingredients to create our meal (protein, side & salad)
Wine & Sparkling water
Meal planning
Private Cooking Class
If you feel like you need more personal time and help with cooking strategies, I am also offering three private lessons a month. In these classes I will bring all the food needed with the option of cooking in your home or mine. We’ll go over a weekly meal plan for your family, including grocery lists and recipes.
A private cooking class includes the following:
Fresh, organic ingredients brought to you
A personalized lesson tailored to your family’s needs (number of people, dietary restrictions, etc.)
Meal planning for the following week
Clean up
Date Night
My favorite class in all honesty is my evening Date Night class, and I love it for a few reasons, the main one being that my husband joins me for this class. He includes a little demonstration on the art of sharpening your knives and he’s just a great teacher. My other reason for loving this class so much is it’s so fun to see you with your partner or friend and the way you interact during cooking. Food is meant to be fun! While this class definitely incorporates cooking lessons, much of the evening centers around the sit-down meal that we share together, wine and dessert included.
Date Night includes the following:
Charcuterie
Cooking lesson
Seasonal salad
Wine (red and white) and sparkling water
Dessert
Fresh flower tablescape
NEW | Seasonal Italian Cooking (hosted by Elisa of Luretík Olive Oil, teaching by Brittany of This Moment in Thyme)
I am so excited to announce this new series of cooking classes that will be hosted in the Santa Ynez Valley at the Luretík Estate.
From Elisa, owner of Luretík Olive Oil: “I am very happy to be part of Brittany’s new slate of classes dedicated to seasonal Italian cooking. The use of fresh, seasonal ingredients are at the heart of Italy’s regional cuisines, as is extra virgin olive oil, the cornerstone in every Italian kitchen. While Brittany guides you through some of Italy’s most beloved, seasonal preparations using Luretík’s award-winning oils, I will offer background on the role of seasonal ingredients and olive oil in the dishes you will be preparing. As always when working with Brittany, this promises to be a wonderful, collaborative opportunity not to be missed!”
Seasonal Italian Cooking includes:
Mocktail upon arrival
A time to get to know each other
Lessons on the role of seasonal ingredients
A time of cooking using the best and freshest locally sourced ingredients
Enjoying our meal together: main, side, and dessert
Morning Cooking Class
One of the reasons I started my cooking classes was to help connect our community over food. I have been given such a gift by opening my home to all of you and seeing you connect over food. That is why I will keep my Morning Cooking Class but limit it to once a month. This class will be open to ten guests and run from 10:00 am to 12:30 pm. In this class, we create a delicious meal together and then enjoy it outside on a beautifully set table.
Morning Cooking Class includes:
Coffee upon arrival
A time of getting to know each other
Cooking lesson
Fresh, organic ingredients
Meal together: main, side, seasonal salad, and dessert
Sideyard Vinegar mocktail with sparkling water and fresh herbs
Fresh flower tablescape
And no clean up for guests!
