Protein Bites

This nutty and date filled chocolate ball with flaky sea salt is my favorite afternoon snack. It’s really so simple to make, all you need is a food processor. You can change out the nuts and throw in other foods like goji berries, chia seeds—this is just the base recipe.

This will make about 100 small size Protein Bites.

  • 3 cups of your favorite nut combo—I like almonds, cashews, & pecans

  • 12 dates—I like to buy the ones that have not been pitted… they tend to be a lot juicer than the ones that are

  • 2 tablespoon coconut oil

  • 1 12 oz bag dark chocolate chips

If you’re using a harder nut like almonds blend first until a sand like consistency, then add the softer nuts, add the coconut oil and and dates last.

Melt chocolate over a double broiler and add 1 tablespoon coconut oil.

Once melted place the rolled nut mixture into the chocolate and cover. I use a spoon to help me with this. Top with flakey sea salt.

    Keep refrigerated.
